Pryor Art Gallery

The gallery was named in honor of LaRue V. Pryor, educator and avid supporter of the visual arts and wife of Columbia State's first president, Dr. Harold S. Pryor. Dr. Pryor's pledge to establish a visual arts endowment as a cooperative project between the College and Columbia State Community College Foundation came to fruition in 2002 when Pryor Art Gallery was constructed in the Waymon L. Hickman Building at the Columbia campus. Pryor Art Gallery is a first-class artistic venue where appreciation for all forms of visual art can be appreciated. Since opening in 2002, hundreds of works of art have been viewed by thousands of visitors of all ages, socio-economic and educational levels, and cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

The mission is to present stimulating exhibitions and programs that inspire and educate Columbia State students, faculty and staff, and community members. This is accomplished by exhibiting works of artists from across the region, securing quality national and state level traveling exhibitions, exhibiting art of faculty and students at Columbia State and hosting elementary and secondary student artwork.

Exhibits are free and open to the public.

Monday - Thursday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
