Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Academy
The Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Academy is a 10-week workforce training program designed to prepare students for careers in the utility and electrical distribution industry. Students receive hands-on training in lineworker skills, safety procedures, electrical systems, and CDL Class A operation while earning multiple industry-recognized credentials. The program also includes career readiness support such as resume development, mock interviews, and networking opportunities with industry employers.
Program Cost: $4,999
Materials Included: Red Wing boots, hard hat, gloves, two sets of eye protection, and a tool bag loaned by Columbia State Community College.
General Schedule: Offered during the fall term. Class schedule is from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Financial Assistance: This program is not eligible for FAFSA funding, but eligible students may qualify for grant funding or workforce assistance. Funding opportunities vary throughout the year.
