The Most Popular Rock Ballad of All Time

For continuing fans of Freddie Mercury and Queen

Professor Lenig looks at the continuing appeal of Queen’s popular song, Bohemian Rhapsody from October of 1975. At the time, it was considered sort of an oddity and novelty song with a lot of Operatic voices. The tune has become something of an iconic statement of the glam rock period. Lenig dives into the origins of the song, how singer Freddie Mercury arrived at the tune, how it was nurtured by a life long love of opera and how a quirky idea and individual obsession became one of the most enduringly popular songs of the rock era. Join us as Queen rocks us once again.
