"We are very thankful for the support of Community First Bank & Trust as presenters of the Third Annual Alumni Association 5K Race," said Tom Turchetta, director of alumni and community events at Columbia State. "This event is hosted by the Alumni Association of Columbia State Community College, and is held to provide another running event for the middle Tennessee area. We are very pleased that this event has grown over the past two years, and look forward to even more growth and participation this year."

Entry fees are $20 for participants who pre-register and $25 for those who register the day of the race. Pre-registration may be completed by visiting alumni.columbiastate.edu or by contacting Tom Turchetta at (931) 540-2554 or via email at tturchetta@columbiastate.edu.

The race will be professionally timed and will take place on a T.A.C. certified flat fast course. Participants will receive race t-shirts, and snacks and beverages will be provided.

Prizes will be awarded by age group to participants who finish in first, second, and third place. There will be split timers on the track to allow participants to time themselves. Walking is allowed, however for the safety and enjoyment of all participants, no skateboards, inline skates, bikes, or pets will be allowed on the course.

All proceeds will go toward helping the Alumni Association provide funds for scholarships to students in need at Columbia State Community College.
