PHOTOGRAPHER BOB RINK TO VISIT COLUMBIA STATE

Event Free and Open to the Public

Internationally renowned photographer Bob Rink will visit Columbia State Community College on Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in room 123 of the Waymon L. Hickman building to discuss his long and successful career.

"Rink will hold a discussion and slide show illustrating his thirty-plus years of professional photography. The range of work is varied, international, and exciting," said Stuart Lenig, professor of speech and drama and interim division chair for humanities at Columbia State. "Join student services and the Lyceum Committee for an engaging evening with a real international figure who can spread the mantra of world culture to our community."

Formerly a photographer for the city of Phoenix, Arizona, Rink will discuss his work as a professional photographer for newspapers, municipalities, magazines, government, books, and the web. He will also discuss his work with international photographers from across the globe in the Through Each Other's Eyes Project, and his private business, a photography service.

With a camera never far from his hand, Rink has traveled much of the world, photographing high-profile personalities from Barry Goldwater to Barack Obama. He currently specializes in portraits, public events, and the special occasions such as formal business portraits, family gatherings, awards banquets, weddings, and anniversary celebrations.

Rink's work has been featured in publications such as Arizona Highways, The Arizona Republic, The Boston Globe, The Mesa Tribune, New Times, Sunset Magazine, The Oregonian, USA Today, and The Washington Post.

"All in all, Rink is a man on the go, and his encore career as an international photographer and informal emissary for American culture have marked him as a popular speaker and lecturer on world arts and culture," added Lenig.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information about this event contact Stuart Lenig by phone at (931) 540-2877 or via email at slenig@columbiastate.edu. For more information about Bob Rink visit his website at http://bobrinkphotography.com/.
