(COLUMBIA, Tenn. - May 4, 2012) - - - On Thursday, May 3, Columbia State Community College honored its respiratory care graduates at a pinning ceremony. Each of the 19 graduating class members will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree at tomorrow's graduation ceremony.
Respiratory therapists provide assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment and care for patients with breathing disorders and have expertise in artificial ventilation, resuscitation and airway management. They care for patients in emergency rooms, nurseries and intensive care units, and they work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician offices and in homes.
